In THE SHADOW, Raven Wood and her vampyre prince are reunited, but their love is threatened by the dark shadow that has fallen over the city of Florence.  While the Prince hunts a traitor who sabotages him at every turn, he finds himself the target of the vampyres’ mortal enemy.  As he wages a war on two fronts, he will need to keep his love for Raven secret, or risk exposing his greatest weakness.

The book despite being a vampire fantasy with 'monsters' of darkness, has love as the background, a charitable religious and some hair-raising adventure in the end...

William York, Prince of Florence, has to fight internal traitors, he doesn't know who they are until the grand finale, and take care of his beloved Raven Wood, who is strong like no one else, but she is human and has limitations against the beings night. William and Raven need to oppose the enemies of the vampires to be together.

William tells his whole story to Raven, and as in the Gabriel's Trilogy there is a strong and constant presence of San Francisco, in this series we have the presence of another Saint, very important, not only for the Catholic Church, but for the history of the world. I will not say who He is, because it is not openly declared in the book who he is, but I know who it is.

4.5*
Another lovely book of Sylvain Reynard but with an ending that made me want to take the next book already at hand.
